Problem
When attempting to import package metadata for use in a Transformer model the following error may be returned. Error: The item cannot be selected because the datasource is not supported in Transformer. Another symptom may be that a signon for the datasource is repeatedly requested but entering it does not work. This occurs on Windows 2012 or Windows 2016 when Transformer is not installed into the default (Program Files (x86)) directory. The issue will not occur on Windows 7 or Windows 2008. After clicking OK to this error message the package can be selected and used. Note: The stated error is valid for certain packages, such as other OLAP cubes. Relational models, for example, can be imported as datasources into Transformer.
