IBM Support

Import of a table mapping failing with encoding error

Troubleshooting

Problem

When trying to export / import table mappings from one environment to another, the import fails with an encoding error

Symptom

IBM InfoSphere Data Replication encountered an error setting the target columns encoding for the source id 'NAME OF ID' and source table 'TABLENAME' from 'SCHEMA.DBNAME' mapped to target table 'TARGETTBLNANE' from 'DBNAME'.
IBM InfoSphere Data Replication detected that the IBM InfoSphere Data
Replication Management Console or the API attempted to reset the detected column encoding for column 'COLNAME'. The encoding of the column detected is 'windows-1252'. The message attempts to set the encoding to 'UTF-8
