| Example: test_imm@tw.ibm.com |
Affected configurations
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- System x3500 M4, type 7383, any model
- System x3550 M4, type 7914, any model
- System x3650 M4, type 7915, any model

This tip is not option specific.
The following system firmware level(s) are affected:
- IMM2 firmware v1.26
The system has the symptom described above.
Solution
This behavior was corrected in IMM2 firmware version 1.50 1AOO31J.
The file is or will be available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and operating system on IBM Support's Fix Central web page, at the following URL:
Workaround
Users can employ a Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) Alert as an alternative notification solution or choose an email alias.
Additional information
For previous firmware, only characters "0-9", "a-z", "A-Z", and "+-.:@" are supported.
User impact is low because:
- Only email names with the underscore character are affected.
- In most case, the event recipients are on-call IT operators who usually do not use an underscore character in email addresses.
- Users can use the "SNMP Alter" notification as an alternative solution.
- Users can use an email alias as a workaround.
