Images not displayed in long description fields

Troubleshooting

Problem

This document provides info about a new property which has been added.

Symptom

Once upgraded to 7.6.0.4 or higher, the copy and paste of an image into a long description field works, however upon saving, it disappears.
Querying the DB shows it is there. This works fine in their 7.6.0.0 environments. But in all their 7.6.0.4 environments this is failing.

No matter if the images are entered by the Insert Image, CTRL+V or Paste from Word action, what happens is that the image simply disappears from the Long Description editor after she clicks OK button, and saves record. (happening to any application)

Rich Text Format is enabled for the 7.6.0.4 environments and this is happening even using multiple browsers, such as FireFox, IE or Chrome. (not browser specific)

Steps to replicate on 7.6.0.4

1- Log into maximo as maxadmin
2- Go to Assets app
3- Open any asset record
4- Edit the long description of the asset and paste a picture
5- Tab out or click OK to save record
6- As a result, the picture disappeared from the Long Description
