Image Verification Point on Java application is failing in DevOps Test UI

Troubleshooting


Problem

The Image Verification Point on Java application is failing in IBM DevOps Test UI (formerly IBM Rational Functional Tester) with an error message:

Image Verification Point: Not As Expected



This indicates that the image captured during recording and playback are not matching which leads the image verification to fail during execution.
While comparing the Expected and Actual images through Unified Report, you can observe that the image is captured correctly during recording and captured in a misplaced location during playback.

Cause

The screen resolution or display scaling of the system can affect the Image's position, which leads the Image Verification to fail.

Diagnosing The Problem

In this scenario, adjust the Display Settings of the system to resolve the Image Verification Point failure issue.

  1. Click on the Windows Search button and type Display Settings and hit Enter.
  2. In the Scale & layout section, ensure that the scale is set to 100%. This ensures consistent image resolution during both recording and playback.


     
  3. After adjusting the display settings, playback the test again.

    Note: If the Image Verification Point was captured in Test UI versions 11.0.2 or 11.0.3, then recapture the specific image after adjusting the display settings in order to perform the image verification correctly.
