IG cannot start because of SSL certificate problem

Troubleshooting


Problem

An Instance Group fails to start the spark management for Batch and spark management for Notebook services. Also, the Spark Shuffle Service is stuck in tentative state.

Symptom

Checking in sparks log file, a message shows SSL initialization error.

Caused by: java.lang.Exception: Failed to initialize the SSL context. Ensure that the CA_CERT_KEYSTORE_PATH and CA_CERT_KEYSTORE_PASSWD are correctly configured in the ascd.conf file.
