If the date selected on prompt page is greater than maximum date in single query item for the report, then to stop the report from running do I have to use Javascript?

Question & Answer

Question

I have a date range prompt in a report studio report for IBM Cognos Business Intelligence. I also have a single query item for maximum date. If a user selects a date on the prompt greater than the maximum date, then the report should stop running and issue a warning message. Can this be done without adding Javascript?
