This document describes how to download IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager Version 6.3 and 6.4 clients, using the Passport Advantage® Online website.

This document describes how to download IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6.3 and 6.4 client installation images using the Passport Advantage Online website.

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager enables you to protect your organization’s data from failures and other errors by storing backup and archive data in a hierarchy of online and offline storage. IBM Tivoli Storage Manager’s core functions include backup and recovery management, and archive management.

Space requirements for AIX, 64-bit

  • Backup-archive client
    • 170 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
    • 200 MB of disk space to unpack the parts.

      NOTE: The AIX Runtime Library consumes approximately 1 MB when the part is unpacked. Installation of the Version Runtime Library is optional depending on whether the minimum required library level is already installed.

    • 500 MB of disk space for the installed product.
  • HSM JFS2
    • 420 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
    • 460 MB of disk space to unpack the parts.

      NOTE: The AIX Runtime Library consumes approximately 1 MB when the part is unpacked. Installation of the Version Runtime Library is optional depending on whether the minimum required library level is already installed.

    • 750 MB of disk space for the installed product.
  • HSM GPFS
    • 450 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
    • 490 MB of disk space to unpack the parts.

    Note: Tivoli Storage Manager Version 6.4 is made up of the following components and code levels:

    • Backup-archive client at V6.4
    • Application programming interface (API) at V6.4
    • Server at V6.3.6, including Operations Center at 6.4.1, Administration Center, Tivoli Monitoring for Tivoli Storage Manager, and device driver components, also at V6.3.6

    Installation Instructions

    Retrieve a copy of the Tivoli Storage Manager Quick Start Guide. The Quick Start Guide is available with the product and included on the Quick Start DVD. The Quick Start Guide is also available for download in PDF format in all supported languages at the website listed below. Follow the instructions in the Tivoli Storage Manager Quick Start Guide to install the product.
