Which levels of NetApp Data ONTAP do the IBM Tivoli® Storage Manager (TSM) and IBM Spectrum Protect™ clients support with its NetApp snapshot-assisted progressive incremental functionality ('incremental -snapdiff' command)?

Tip: The product now known as IBM Spectrum Protect™ was named IBM Tivoli® Storage Manager in releases earlier than Version 7.1.3. To learn more about the rebranding transition, see technote 1963634.
Windows, AIX, and Linux x86/x86_64 operating systems are supported with which levels of NetApp Data ONTAP for the NetApp snapshot assisted progressive incremental functionality.
Note: Unless otherwise noted, snapshot assisted backup is only supported for supported versions of ONTAP running in 7-mode. C-mode is supported on ONTAP versions 8.2.1 and later (see table).
*Note: With 6.2.2 or later clients, IBM Tivoli Storage Manager recommends by using NetApp Data ONTAP level 7.3.3 or later levels of 7.3 (7.3.y where y=3 or later), due to the Unicode support at those levels of Data ONTAP.
**Note: Support for backing up vFiler volumes requires ONTAP version 8.1.1 or greater.
