IBM Sterling File Gateway user interface cannot be loaded on Internet browser with Access denied error

Symptom

OS: Windows 2008 R2

Product: Sterling Integrator 5.2.1, build 5201, File Gateway build 5201

After installing Sterling Integrator 5.2.1 and installed filegateway_2_2_5201.jar file, user started up SI and able to bring up /dashboard user interface.

However, filegateway user interface cannot be brought up on the server where SI/SFG is installed; see the error message further below.

User is able to access both dashboard and filegateway user interface from the server and client machine using IP Address.

i.e. http://1.1.1.1:8080/dashboard and http://1.1.1.1:8080/filegateway

Another observation is that on the server, user can access both dashboard and filegateway using the localhost.

i.e. http://localhost:8080/dashboard or http://localhost:8080/filegtateway

However, user is not able to use the DNS or server's short and long name in the access URL from both client and server.

i.e.

http://servername:8080/dashboard or http://servername.serverdomain.com:8080/dashboard

http://servername:8080/filegateway or http://servername.serverdomain.com:8080/filegateway
