Description

IBM SPSS Analytic Server is a solution for big data analytics that combines IBM SPSS technology with big data systems and allows you to work with familiar IBM SPSS user interfaces to solve problems on a previously unattainable scale.

The following features and enhancements are introduced in version 3.2.2.

Platform support

  • Support for Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) 3.1.4
  • Support for Cloudera CDH 6.3
  • Support for Ubuntu 18
  • Support for Oracle 19c
  • Support for SQL Server 2017
  • Support for R 3.5.x.
  • Support for Python 3.7
  • HDP 2.5 is no longer supported
  • Ubuntu 14 is no longer supported
  • SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 11 is no longer supported

Enhancements

  • Non-root Ambari agent is now allowed.
  • You can now disable HTTP once you have enabled HTTPS for Analytic Server on Cloudera:
    To disable HTTP once you have enabled HTTPS for Analytic Server, the following Analytic Server Service settings must be configured in the Cloudera Manager admin console.
    Enable TLS/SSL for Analytic Server: checked.
    Http Port (http.port): -1. The default port is 9080.
  • Hive pushback, for lambda functions related to the Modeler clem function to_date, is now supported.
  • You can now read data from Hive and write to Hive tables in different databases.

Known issues for Analytic Server

Issue: You cannot perform an online installation of Analytic Server 3.2.2 in a Cloudera 5.x environment. This is a known Cloudera issue.
Solution: Perform an offline installation of Analytic Server 3.2.2 on Cloudera 5.x.
