This document describes how to download IBM® Spectrum Protect High Speed Data Transfer Version 8.1.0 using the Passport Advantage® Online Web site.

Beginning with IBM Spectrum Protect™ Version 8.1.0, you can optimize data transfer to a remote server by enabling Aspera® Fast Adaptive Secure Protocol (FASP®) technology. Aspera is an IBM® company.
You must install one instance of the IBM Spectrum Protect High Speed Data Transfer product on each server that is used for data transfer with Aspera FASP technology. For example, if you are replicating a node from a source server to a target server, you require two instances of IBM Spectrum Protect High Speed Data Transfer.This document describes how to download Version 8.1.0 installation images for Linux® servers by using the Passport Advantage Online website.

Space requirements for Linux
- 2662 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
- 7500 MB of disk space to unpack the part.
- 512 MB in the /var directory, 5000 MB in the installation directory, 2000 MB in the /tmp directory, and 128 MB in the root home directory.
