*NDMP support is available only on IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition and IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager Extended Edition.

  • Any other NAS file server that supports guidelines specified by IBM Spectrum Protect and which supports NDMP Version 4. NAS Vendors on the Ready for Cloud and Smarter Infrastructure software list follow guidelines to implement NDMP as specified by IBM Spectrum Protect. File servers on the list have generally undergone tests to ensure they are compatible with IBM Spectrum Protect. Software Installed and Configured One of the following software products is a prerequisite for performing NDMP backup/restore operations:
  • A IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition V8.1 or newer server
  • A IBM Spectrum Protect Extended Edition V8.1 or newer backup-archive client on Windows or AIX (64 bit) can be used for initiating volume-level backup and restore operations. To use a Web client to display files from a volume backup and select individual files to be restored, you must have a Windows Web client and a Web browser which can run on any platform.
