Important Note:   IBM XIV and IBM XIV Gen3 have reached end of support, and are considered discontinued in IBM Storage Insights and IBM Spectrum Control.  For more information see the topic Discontinued features in IBM Spectrum Control.

Limitations and considerations

  • 1 IBM XIV Gen 3 software has reached End of Support (EOS) as of 31 July 2023.  
  • 2 IBM XIV Gen 2 (model A14) software has reached End of Support (EOS) as of 31 December, 2018.  
  • Storage Insights users with outdated XIV devices may need to enable the older TLS protocol for data collection.  For more information see Enabling the collection of metadata for devices that use TLS 1.0 or 1.1.  
  • In 5.4.0 and later, provisioning in IBM Spectrum Control is no longer supported. While this feature may appear in the GUI, it might not work as intended.
