On 12 June 2022, IBM is planning to change the public IP addresses for the IBM software download servers used for z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE product and service orders submitted from Shopz, z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE service orders submitted from ServiceLink, and z/OS service orders submitted from SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER. Customer action might be required to ensure uninterrupted downloads of products and service.
IBM software electronic delivery server change
In support of IBM network infrastructure improvements, on 12 June 2022, public IP addresses will be changed for the IBM download servers used for:
- z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE product and service orders initiated from Shopz,
- z/OS, z/VM, and z/VSE service orders initiated from ServiceLink, and
- z/OS service orders initiated from SMP/E RECEIVE ORDER.
The IP addresses for these servers are changing so any applications that use the IP address must be updated. The hostnames remain the same. Firewall rules might need updating to permit access even though the applications use a hostname. IBM recommends updating all firewall rules as soon as possible. Do not remove the current IP addresses because they are still used for other delivery functions. Instead, the new IP addresses should be added. In cases where an IP address is necessary instead of a hostname in a specific application, updates must be coordinated with the scheduled IP change date.
