General Page
- IBM SevOne Network Performance Management includes components derived from Open Source Software and other software products. Support for all of these are available through your usual IBM Support channels, with defined response goals. Any defect identified that is determined to be in the software or open source project, your IBM Support representative works with the necessary open source community or license software component support to resolve the defect and deliver a fix.
- The numbering scheme for the version of IBM SevOne Network Performance Management is based on the 'semver' semantic versioning specification. The version number takes the form major.minor.patch with:
- MAJOR: Number changes indicate incompatible changes between releases
- MINOR: Number changes indicate a new release
- PATCH: Number changes for fix updates
Monthly service packs can be issued (for the LTSR/STR releases designated as eligible in the table) for critical security issues or critical product defects if fixes are available prior to planned product releases. Customers who do not consume service packs for these fixes will get them in the next product upgrade. Monthly service packs, when available, will be published on the Fix Central Site (https://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral) or can be acquired from IBM Support.
IBM Support might offer a test fix to clients to verify that a code fix is working and solving the problem. Do not install these test fixes on production environments. To obtain a service pack/test fix, the installation might require a recent update as a prerequisite.
Noncritical fixes are included in the next Short-Term Release/Long Term Support Release after the fix is verified.
