Abstract

IBM Security Verify Request provides an interface for the Identity products (IBM Security Verify Governance (ISVG) as well as Identity Manager (IM), which is a component of IBM Security Verify Governance). IBM Security Verify Request enables the ISVG users or IM users to act on the access request approvals or manage the passwords while on the move.

What’s new?
This release delivers the following new features:
  • Support for MDM (Mobile Device Management)
  • Enhanced search and filter capabilities
MDM support:
The app can now be configured with an MDM solution (For example: IBM Security MaaS360®)
The app supports the following app configuration parameters:
  • hostURL: Server URL for ISVG or Identity Manager. Host URL has the following formats: 
    • https://<hostname>:<port>/itim for ISIM/IM, where hostname and port number are of the server that hosts the ISIM/IM Service Center. 
    • https://<hostname>:<port>/igi/v2 for IGI/ISVG, where hostname and port number are of the server that hosts the IGI/ISVG Service Center.
  • username (optional): User ID. This is an optional parameter. You need to provide this value only if user registry for MDM is managed by ISVG/IM. If this is not the case, then do not specify the username parameter. 
These parameters are configured by the Administrator by using MDM.
If the app is configured with host URL by using MDM, user is not required to enter the host URL and is directed to the login screen.
If the app is configured with host URL and username by using MDM, user only needs to provide the password on the login screen.
If the app is not configured by using MDM, there is no change in user experience.
Enhanced search and filter capabilities:
This release provides enhanced search capabilities for approvals list to support ISVG for an improved user experience.
 In addition to the existing parameters, users can now search by using the following parameters:
  • Applicant Name
  • Beneficiary Name
  • Applicant Code
  • Beneficiary Code
  • Applicant ID
  • Beneficiary ID
  • Parent request ID
  • Request ID

Supported mobile platforms:
  • Apple iOS v13 to v14.4
  • Android v9.0, v10.0 and v11.0

IBM Security Verify Request works with following Identity products:
IBM Security Identity Manager (ISIM) V 6.0.0.22 or ISIM Virtual Appliance V 7.0.1.13 and later.
“Force password change” is supported from IGI version 5.2.4.1-ISS-SIGI-IF0002 and later as well as for ISVG 10.0.

Note: You are recommended to update your deployments to the latest FP versions.
IBM Security Verify Governance (ISVG) configuration:
Configure the rest.api.visibility parameter to false in the config.properties custom file of ISVG virtual appliance. This file can only be accessed by a virtual appliance administrator in the Custom File Management pane. For more information, see  Changing the user visibility of selected REST APIs section in the IBM Documentation.
Known issues:
  • On Android platform, only the default system fonts are supported.
  • When the app is configured with ISVG: When special characters are allowed but the character set is not specified, then during Change password operation, if the new password containing special characters is provided, password rules shown on app might turn green, denoting all rules are satisfied. However, the request fails with a message, “New password does not satisfy the password policy.”
  • When the app is configured with ISIM/IM: Search by date cannot be performed.
  • On Android platform, when app is upgraded to the latest version and user is using the Dashboard, the user is navigated to the landing screen where user gets an option to log in via Scan QR or Manual Configuration. In case of Scan QR flow, the user needs to explicitly unregister the device from IGI Service Center and register again.

Notes
  • When the SSL certificate on the server is renewed, the IGI/ISIM administrator must maintain the same public key. If the public key is changed during certificate renewal/upgrade, users may face issues during login process. In this case, the users must uninstall and reinstall the app.
  • When the MDM administrator pushes a new configuration, the mobile app user is notified on the Dashboard. The user is then logged out of the app. To continue using the app, use the new host URL.
