Content
The IBM Security Access Request mobile application is rebranded as IBM Security Verify Request. The App icon name is changed to “IBM Access”. This name is used in the log files as well.
Identity Governance and Intelligence (IGI) is rebranded as IBM Security Verify Governance (ISVG). IBM Security Identity Manager (ISIM) is now a component of IBM Security Verify Governance and is referred to as Identity Manager.
What’s new?
In this release, the following features are added for ISVG:
- Act as delegate for
- Force password change
Act as delegate for:
- If a user needs to do tasks on behalf of another user, ISVG provides an option to act as a delegate for another user and perform actions on tasks on behalf of the delegator user. Such operation can be performed using the mobile app. Refer to the ISVG documentation for further information on this feature.
- In the mobile application, the user can select the “Act as Delegate For” option from the menu. This will show the list of available delegators, and the user can choose the one that he/she has to act on behalf of. User can also view the details of the delegator by tapping on the “View Details” button.
- A delegated user can perform the following actions: Approve, Reject and Redirect on pending requests on behalf of the delegator.
- After performing actions on pending tasks, the delegated user can return to self via “Return To Self” option in the menu.
Force password change:
- In ISVG, when an administrator forces a change password action for a user's account that belongs to a password sync group, the user is prompted to change the password the next time he/she logs in. Refer to the product documentation for more information on this feature.
- If this feature is enabled by the ISVG admin, the user is prompted to change his/her account password from the mobile app at the next login.
Supported mobile platforms:
- Apple iOS v13 and later
- Android v9.0 and v10.0
IBM Security Verify Request works with the following Identity products:
- IBM Security Identity Manager (ISIM) V 6.0.0.22 or ISIM Virtual Appliance V 7.0.1.13 and later.
- “Force password change” is supported on IGI version 5.2.4.1-ISS-SIGI-IF0002 and above and on ISVG 10.0.

IBM Security Verify Governance (ISVG) configuration:
- Configure the rest.api.visibility parameter to false in the config.properties custom file of the ISVG virtual appliance. This file can be accessed only by a virtual appliance administrator in the Custom File Management pane. Refer to “Changing the user visibility of selected REST APIs” section of the product documentation for more information.
Known issues:
- On Android, only the default system fonts are supported.
- When the app is configured with ISVG -
- when special characters are allowed but no character set is specified, if in the change password operation a new password that contains special characters is provided, the password rules shown on app may turn green, denoting all rules are satisfied. However, the request fails with a message, “new password does not satisfy the password policy.”
- For IGI V5.2.6:
- The app shows requests for all roles for a user even if only one role is delegated to the delegate user.
- The app shows delegators with a future delegation start date.
Both issues are fixed on ISVG V10.0.
- When the app is configured with ISIM, the Search by date operation is not functional.
