IBM Security Guardium: Oracle error "ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout" when ATAP enabled

Problem

With ATAP activated, there are errors logged when Oracle starts, and errors accessing External Tables

Symptom

Error accessing External Tables, same Error logged when starting database.

ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEFETCH callout

Cause

ATAP library missing the required dlsym symbol used for dynamic linking operations

Environment

Oracle Database

Diagnosing The Problem

Confirm error below is present is logged:

KUP-04095: preprocessor command [...] symbol lookup error: /lib/libguard-atap-oracle-any-64.so: undefined symbol: dlsym

Resolving The Problem

Stop the Oracle Database

Deactivate ATAP

Reactivate ATAP with instrumentation enabled by including the parameter below:

db_use_instrumented=yes

Start the Oracle Database
