Abstract

This document describes how to download and assemble IBM Security Directory Server 6.3.1 components using the Passport Advantage Online website for each supported platform.

Download Description

IBM Security Directory Server is the IBM implementation of Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for supported Windows, AIX, Linux, Solaris, and Hewlett-Packard UNIX (HP-UX) operating systems.

Downloading and assembling the product

  1. Download all of the parts that you need from the Passport Advantage Online website. The parts are described by operating system in the tabbed sections of this document. Depending on the operating system there are:
    • .tar files and .iso file
    • .zip files and .iso file
    • .tar file
  2. Do one of the following:
    • If the .iso part is available for your platform, download the .iso part and use the file to create an installation DVD.
    • Download all the .zip or .tar parts for your platform and unpack each of the parts into a single temporary directory on your system.
  3. To install the product, follow the instructions in the IBM Security Directory Server V6.3.1 Quick Start Guide. For more information about installation, see the IBM Security Directory Server V6.3.1 Installation and Configuration Guide.

Downloadable images

IBM Security Directory Server V6.3.1 consists of the eAssembly packages that contain the e-images required to run the offering on a Linux operating system. For each variety of Linux, the eAssembly consists of several downloadable parts for the server (including client) and one downloadable part for the client only. The following tables provide details about each part. Download all .tar files or the .iso file if you want the server. Or else, download the client-only part if you want only the client.

Parts for Linux xSeries

The following eAssembly contains all of the parts for Linux xSeries:

  • CRPH4ML: IBM Security Directory Server V6.3.1 for Linux xSeries eAssembly for server (includes client).

    Parts for the client only on Linux

    The following eAssembly contains all of the client-only parts for supported varieties of Linux:

    • CRPH9ML: IBM Security Directory Server V6.3.1 eAssembly for client only.

    If you download parts for the server, you do not need the following parts, because the client is included in the server eAssembly. Download these parts if you want only the client.
