Abstract

Fix pack for IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On, AccessAgent, Version 8.2.1

Download Description

This fix pack corrects the following issues that are found in IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On AccessAgent, Version 8.2.1 release:

  • APAR IV74374
    Symptom: Inaccurate Russian dialog window message that is displayed when saving of credentials.
  • APAR IV74375
    Symptom: ISAM ESSO AccessAgent, on Windows Server 2012 R2, fails to start when logging in via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or the Citrix client.
  • APAR IV75104
    Symptom: ISAM ESSO Credential Provider does not appear after an ISAM ESSO process crashes or is terminated.
  • APAR IV75081
    Symptom: Memory leaks found in ISAM ESSO AccessAgent support for Internet Explorer.
  • APAR IV75082
    Symptom: If a web page contains "about:blank" elements, the user might experience latency when browsing with Internet Explorer.
  • APAR IV75136
    Symptom: Changing the Windows password with Ctrl+Alt+Del does not update Windows credential in the user's wallet.
  • Defect
    Retrieving the user's full name from Active Directory might fail when the policy, pid_logon_user_name_display_option, is set to '2' or '3'.
  • Enhancement
    Removed references to Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3, though it is not invoked.

The following enhancements only affects IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager users:
  • Enhancement
    Included the lease Distinguished Name in the check in or check out audit log entry.
  • Enhancement
    The "Checkout Credentials" window might appear at the top left corner of the screen when an incorrect application window signature is specified in the AccessProfile. This enhancement will display the "Checkout Credentials" window in the center of the current foreground window for this situation.

Before you install this fix pack, ensure that you installed one of the following versions of AccessAgent:

  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0191 (GA)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0227 (Interim fix 1)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0230 (Interim fix 2)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1120 (Fix pack 4)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1122 (Interim fix 5)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1125 (Fix pack 6)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1135 (Fix pack 7)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1141 (Fix pack 8)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1142 (Fix pack 9)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1143 (Fix pack 10)

Installation Instructions

Installing the AccessAgent fix pack

  1. Download the AccessAgent installer file from Fix Central into your local computer. For example: C:\Temp.
    • For Windows 32-bit 8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_32.msp
    • For Windows 64-bit 8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_64.msp
  2. Run the AccessAgent installer file with administrator privileges.
  3. Note: For Windows 7, right-click cmd.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
    • For Windows 32-bit msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_32.msp"
    • For Windows 64-bit msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_64.msp"
  4. Click Finish. The ISAM ESSO AccessAgent Installer Information window is displayed.
  5. Click Yes.
  6. Restart the computer.
  7. Right-click the AccessAgent tray icon in the system tray and select About ISAM ESSO AccessAgent. The AccessAgent version is displayed.
  8. If you successfully installed 8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011, the AccessAgent version is updated to 8.2.1.1147 and the AccessAgent maintenance level is FP0011.


    Silent Installation Procedure

    You can also install the fix pack silently.

    Before you begin

    Ensure that you have administrator privileges.

    Procedure

    Use the following script for silent installation on a command line.

    Note: For Windows 7, right-click cmd.exe and choose Run as Administrator.

    • For Windows 32-bit msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_32.msp" /quiet
    • For Windows 64-bit msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0011_64.msp" /quiet
