Abstract

Fix pack for IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On, AccessAgent, Version 8.2.1

Download Description

This fix pack corrects the following issues that are found in IBM Security Access Manager for Enterprise Single Sign-On AccessAgent, Version 8.2.1 release:

  • APAR IV68214
    Symptom: When the user logs on with a smart card and if the "Smart card is required for interactive logon" option is enabled in Active Directory, the user is unable to log on to AccessAgent.
  • APAR IV67944
    Symptom: When IMS Server is configured to use TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 only, AccessAgent cannot communicate with IMS Server.
  • APAR IV69049
    Symptom: If a web page contains the "javascript:" elements, the user might experience latency when browsing with Internet Explorer.
  • APAR IV69587
    Symptom: One or more AccessAgent processes are not started after Attis restarts AccessAgent after a crash.
  • APAR IV68986
    Symptom: When the user reboots or shuts down a workstation, a synchronization occurs with IMS Server and updates to the wallet might happen. The user wallet might be corrupted if the reboot or shut down happens before the updates are completed.
  • APAR IV66290
    Symptom: AccessAgent is slow to log on in a Citrix environment.
  • APAR IV69177
    Symptom: Internet Explorer might crash when user saves credentials to the wallet.
  • Enhancement
    Reduced spikes of file I/O for SOCIAccess.exe during a periodic synchronization with IMS Server.
  • Enhancement
    Extends Active Directory password synchronization support to client workstations joined to a domain that does not trust the configured enterprise directory domains in the IMS Server

Prerequisites

Before you install this fix pack, ensure that you installed one of the following versions of AccessAgent:

  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0191 (GA)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0227 (Interim fix 1)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.0230 (Interim fix 2)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1120 (Fix pack 4)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1122 (Interim fix 5)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1125 (Fix pack 6)
  • AccessAgent 8.2.1.1135 (Fix pack 7)

Installation Instructions

1. Download the AccessAgent installer file from Fix Central into your local computer. For example: C:\Temp.

  • For Windows 32-bit
8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008_32.msp
  • For Windows 64-bit
8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008_64.msp
   
2. Run the AccessAgent installer file with administrator privileges.

Note: For Windows 7, right-click cmd.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
  • For Windows 32-bit
msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008_32.msp"
  • For Windows 64-bit
msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008_64.msp"

3. Click Finish. The ISAM ESSO AccessAgent Installer Information window is displayed.

4. Click Yes.

5. Restart the computer.

6. Right-click the AccessAgent tray icon in the system tray and select About ISAM ESSO AccessAgent. The AccessAgent version is displayed.

If you successfully installed 8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008, the AccessAgent version is updated to 8.2.1.1141 and the AccessAgent maintenance level is FP0008.

Silent Installation Procedure

You can also install the fix pack silently.

Before you begin
Ensure that you have administrator privileges.

Procedure
Use the following script for silent installation on a command line.

Note: For Windows 7, right-click cmd.exe and choose Run as Administrator.
  • For Windows 32-bit
msiexec /p "8.2.1-ISS-SAMESSO-AA-FP0008_32.msp" /quiet
  • For Windows 64-bit
