Product Documentation
Abstract
This document contains a reference manual that describes the architecture modeling elements that are available in the UML Profile-Based Integrated Architecture (UPIA) feature in the version 8.0 release of Rational® modeling products. UPIA is the underlying feature used by the IBM® Rational Integrated Architecture Modeling and Management (IAM2) process.
Content
The UPIA feature in the Rational modeling products uses a profile to define types of elements and relationships that can be used to model the architecture of a business or enterprise. When the UPIA profile is applied to a Unified Modeling Language (UML) model, the corresponding tools and menu commands in the Rational modeling products enable the user to easily create UPIA models to represent the enterprise architecture.
With each release of the Rational modeling products, enhancements are made to the UPIA profile and corresponding tools. A UPIA reference manual has been created to help users understand the available UPIA element types and how they are related.
The attached document, "UPIA_Reference_v8.0.pdf," contains the element type information for Version 1.4 of the UPIA profile that was shipped with Version 8.0 of the Rational modeling products.
