Abstract
This document describes how to download and install the IBM® Rational® Functional Tester, version 7.0.1.2 fix pack.

IBM Rational Functional Tester 7.0.1.2 fix pack contains defect fixes to previous version of Functional Tester and the following enhancements:
- Translated online help is updated for the following languages:
- Brazilian Portuguese
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Support for rollback from Functional Tester version 7.0.1.2 to version 7.0.1.1 using IBM Installation Manager
Note: If you upgrade Functional Tester from version 7.0.1.1 to 7.0.1.2, you can rollback Functional Tester to version 7.0.1.1 only, and not to any other earlier versions. So, if you have updated Functional Tester directly from version 7.0.1 to 7.0.1.2, you cannot rollback to version 7.0.1.
Prerequisites
- Before you update Rational Functional Tester, close the Eclipse and Microsoft® Visual Studio IDEs, as well as any open Web browsers, and all other applications that are enabled by Functional Tester.
- This fix pack requires IBM Installation Manager, version 1.1 or later.
- If you are installing or upgrading Rational Functional Tester on Microsoft Windows®, to use the .NET Scripting feature, you must copy msvcp71.dll into the System32 directory (C:\Windows\System32), if it is not already available. You can copy the msvcp71.dll file from any other Windows operating system such as Windows XP or download it from Internet.
Installation Instructions
<b>Additional requirements </b>
<p>If you are extending an Eclipse IDE, before you install this fix pack you must install version 3.2.2 or higher of the Eclipse IDE and one of the following Java runtime environments: <br clear="left">
<ul>
<li>For Windows: IBM 32-bit Runtime Environment for Windows, Java® 2 Technology Edition, Version 5.0 service release 4; Sun Java 2 Platform Standard Edition Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 11 for Microsoft Windows.
<li> For Linux®: IBM 32-bit Runtime Environment for Linux on Intel® architecture, Java 2 Technology Edition, Version 5.0 service release 4; Sun® Java 2 Platform Standard Edition Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 11 for Linux x86 (not supported for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server Version 9).</ul>

<p><b>Installing Rational Functional Tester, version 7.0.1.2</b></p>
<ul> <li>If IBM Rational Functional Tester, version 7.0, 7.0.0.1, 7.0.0.2, 7.0.1 or 7.0.1.1 is already installed on your computer, you can install this update using the Update Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager. For general instructions on installing an update, see "Updating Rational Functional Tester" in the <i> Installation Guide.</i></li>
<li>If you are installing IBM Rational Functional Tester, version 7.0.1.2, for the first time, then you can install this update when you install IBM Rational Functional Tester, version 7.0.1. Click <b>Check for other versions and extensions </b> on the Install page of the Installing Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager. The update is checked by default and is installed directly from the IBM update repository. However, it is also possible to download the update and install it locally. If you install the update locally make sure that you add both the 7.0.1 and 7.0.1.2 repositories in Installation Manager.</li></ul>
<p><b>Local upgrade of an existing installation </b> </p>
<ol> <li> Download the Functional Tester 7.0.1.2 fix pack from the location specified at the bottom of this page.</li>
<li> Extract the files to a temporary directory. For example, extract the file to <code> C:\temp </code></li>
<li> In the IBM Installation Manager click <b> File > Preferences</b> and add the temporary directory to the list of repositories, for example, <code> C:\temp\rft7012.update.disk1\disk1\</code>.</li>
<li>Use the Update Packages wizard of the Installation Manager to proceed with the update.</li></ol>
<p><b>ClearQuest® Test Manager® perspective in Rational Functional Tester</b>
<p>To add the ClearQuest Test Manager perspective to Functional Tester, install ClearQuest 7.0.1.1.1 plug-ins into Functional Tester using IBM Installation Manager.
The ClearQuest plugins are available for download at the bottom of this page. Ensure that you have already installed Rational ClearQuest 7.0.1.1 iFix01 on the computer.
<p><b>Installing ClearQuest plug-ins directly from IBM update repository:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>If IBM Rational Functional Tester is already installed on your system, click <b>Check for other versions and extensions </b> on the Install page of the Install Packages wizard in IBM Installation Manager. Select ClearQuest 7.0.1.1.1 from the list of the offerings and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation. </li>
<li>You can also install ClearQuest 7.0.1.1.1 while installing Functional Tester. In IBM Installation Manager, select <b>Functional Tester </b> in the Install page of the Install Packages wizard, and click <b>Check for other versions and extensions</b>. Select <b>ClearQuest 7.0.1.1.1</b> from the displayed list of offerings and follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the installation.</li> </ul>]
<p><b>Downloading ClearQuest plug-ins for local installations:</b>
- Download ClearQuest 7.0.1.1.1 from the location specified at the bottom of this page. Extract the files to a temporary directory. In IBM Installation Manager, click File > Preferences and add the ClearQuest repository location (
temporary directory\cq\updates\) to the list of repositories. Use the Install Packages wizard of Installation Manager to proceed with the installation.
