Problem
Installing the "Full-Text Search Server" component of IBM Rational ClearQuest does not install everything needed to configure and maintain the type-ahead feature. Specifically, the cqtacfg.pl file will not be installed and as a result, attempts to set up or maintain type-ahead will fail.
Cause
This is a known defect of IBM Rational ClearQuest Installation Manager which does not install "cqtacfg.pl" if only the "Full-Text Search Server" component is selected. You must select the "ClearQuest Web Server" component to get "cqtacfg.pl" installed.
Diagnosing The Problem
When you attempt to configure or maintain IBM Rational ClearQuest type-ahead, using the full-text search command with the "--typeahead_cmd" option, you may get this error:

Resolving The Problem
There are two ways to resolve this issue:
- Modify your existing installation and select the "ClearQuest Web Server" component.
- Copy the missing file, "cqtacfg.pl", from another machine that has "ClearQuest Web Server" installed. The missing file is located in the %CLEARQUEST_HOME% directory. You need to copy it to your ClearQuest Full-Text Search server into the %CLEARQUEST_HOME% directory.
Attention: If you choose this option, you must delete the copied file before you can upgrade ClearQuest.
