How to collect IBM Dynamic System Analysis (DSA) report from server node?
Answer
To collect DSA diagnostics logs using the latest DSA tool, do the following:
Fix Central path / Information Management, IBM Netezza Tools (HWSUPPORT_8.3, Linux)
NOTE: If you already have newest available nz-hwsupport tool installed
(V8.3.0.3) - you can skip steps 1-3
check through the command below
cat /opt/nz-hwsupport/version.txt
1. Please go to following page:
http://ibm.co/2n9SyDt
Please choose option:
fix pack: 8.3.0.3-IM-Netezza-HWSUPPTOOLS-fp93648
and click Download now
After login page (you might not be prompted if already logged in)
download following file: nz-hwsupport-V8.3.0.3-20150429.tar.gz (~136 MB)
2. Uplaod this file to machine into /tmp directory on HA1
3. Run following:
cd /tmp
tar xfz nz-hwsupport-V8.3.0.3-20150429.tar.gz
cd nz-hwsupport-V8.3.0.3-20150429
./hw-install.pl
The DSA is located in the following folder:
/opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/
4. Depending on your platform run:
TwinFin, Cruiser, Skimmer (all RHEL 5 based):
chmod +x /opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/ibm_utl_dsa_dsytb31-9.30_portable_rhel5_x86-64.bin
Striper, Mako (all RHEL 6 based):
chmod +x /opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/ibm_utl_dsa_dsytb31-9.30_portable_rhel6_x86-64.bin
5. Run the DSA portable edition as follows:
TwinFin, Cruiser, Skimmer (all RHEL 5 based):
/opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/ibm_utl_dsa_dsytb31-9.30_portable_rhel5_x86-64.bin -diags
Striper, Mako (all RHEL 6 based):
/opt/nz-hwsupport/install_files/IBM/ibm_utl_dsa_dsytb31-9.30_portable_rhel6_x86-64.bin -diags
The output file will be of the form .xml.gz. and is in the /var/log/IBM_support/ directory unless you specified a different location
6. Upload these DSA logs to IBM support site using below link :
https://www.ecurep.ibm.com/app/upload
