IBM Support

IBM P8 FileNet Content Engine Configuration Manager cannot find Classpath creating data sources

Troubleshooting

Problem

Attempting to run the task for creating data sources in Configuration Manager for a Weblogic based Content Engine install returns an error that the classpath cannot be found, even though the classpath is correctly defined in Weblogic's configuration files.

Symptom

An error occurred while running Configure JDBC Data Sources (GCD or Object Store).

Running the task fails with the following message:
The data source configuration failed:
CLASSPATH=;;;;;
The system cannot find the path specified.

Cause

Configuration Manager calls the Weblogic Scripting Tool (WLST) to execute the scripts that create the data sources. This tool has its own configuration files that can be out of sync with Weblogic's standard configuration information.

Environment

Windows server
Weblogic application server

Diagnosing The Problem

The error referencing the Classpath cannot be found displays the current 'known' value for the classpath, which in this case shows nothing but semi-colons (the delimiter).

Resolving The Problem

Check the following files:
wlst.cmd
setWLSEnv.cmd

...and ensure that the WL_HOME directory matches the current install directory for Weblogic.
