Abstract

This document describes how to download IBM Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Version 2.2.1, install the client, and run the server-activation program.

Download Description

IBM Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Version 2.2.1 includes new features, enhancements, and fixes to the version 2.2.0.2 release. For details about the version 2.2.1 release, see Release Notes.

Before you install Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, click the link in the Download package table below and download the following compressed files from IBM Passport Advantage:

  • CZPV9ML.zip
    • This file contains the installation program for IBM Optim Query Tuner client, Version 2.2.1. Install the Optim Query Tuner client on the client Windows system.
  • CZPW0ML.zip
    • This file contains the server-activation program for Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, Version 2.2.1. Run this program on the database server to activate the product license and enable the Index Advisor stored procedure.

      Note: If the license for Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Version 2.2 is activated on your database server, you do not need to download this file and activate the current license again.
  • CZPF4ML.zip
    • This file contains the Quick Start Guide that gets you started with a typical installation of Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows.

Prerequisites

You need approximately 2.5 GB free space on your client system and 1.5 GB free space on your database server to store and extract the content of the compressed files.

Installation Instructions

To install Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows:

  1. On the database server, activate the product license and enable the Index Advisor stored procedure:
    1. Transfer the CZPW0ML.zip file to the database server and extract the content of this compressed file into a temporary directory.
    2. Run the installation program for your platform. You can use the installation wizard or the console mode. Optionally, you can also use a response file to install silently. See the "Activating the product license and enabling the Index Advisor stored procedure for Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows on a database" topic in the information center:
  2. On the client Windows system, install the Optim Query Tuner client:
    1. Extract the content of the CZPV9ML.zip file into a temporary directory.
    2. Install the Optim Query Tuner client. The steps differ depending on whether a previous version or a beta version is installed. See step 2 in the "Roadmap for installing IBM Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows and configuring a DB2 database for query tuning" topic in the information center:
