Question & Answer
Question
How is Average Issue Size calculated?
Answer
The Average Issue Size is calculated as follows:
Select issues from Issues table for a stock item based on the following criteria
- Unscheduled: Scheduled Flag is "N"
- Issue Quantity: Issue size > 0 (i.e. exclude negative and zero issue quantities).
- Use only the most recent 48 issues for the stock item (i.e. sorted based on issue date)
- Where there are 24 or more issues, calculate the average issue size using single exponential smoothing.
- Where there are fewer than 24 issues, calculate the average issue size as the median value.
- If there are no issues or the result of the issue size calculation is less than one set the average issue size to one
