How can I format Date field in Microsoft Excel?
Answer
Once data is imported in to Excel:
- Highlight the column where the date and time appear.
- Go to the DATA tab (from the top of the Excel page)
- Select 'Text to Columns'
- The wizard will start setting the field as 'Delimited, which is correct so ensure it is selected, select Next
- Select SPACE as the delimiter and below you see how the field has been broken up. Select Next.
- Select DATE and the format you want it to appear in. Select FINISH
- Excel asks if you want to replace the cells with the new data output. Select YES
- Field should now only contain the Date portion of the Date time stamp.
