Abstract

On 5 June 2024, IBM released IBM® Maximo® Application Suite Manage Component patch 8.7.8. As with all patches, it is cumulative. In addition to the new fixes listed here, all fixes from earlier patches for this version are included.

Manage and Mobile APAR and Known Issue Fixes

A new System Property was added to resolve this Issue called mxe.app.inventory.enablewonumcheckforreturn.
-- When mxe.app.inventory.enablewonumcheckforreturn is set to 0, Item Return to the Inventory using a different Work Order than the one used to dispatch the Inventory Item is allowed. This is the default behavior as Maximo.
-- When mxe.app.inventory.enablewonumcheckforreturn is set to 1, Item Return to the Inventory using a different Work Order than the one used to dispatch the Inventory Item is not allowed.
Manual Changes
APAR Change instructions
To add the new message for mxe.app.inventory.enablewonumcheckforreturn, follow these steps:
-- Log into Manage as an administrative user.
-- Go to the Database Configuration Application (System Configuration -> Platform Configuration -> Database Configuration.
-- In the More Actions section, click Messages.
-- Click the New Row icon (plus sign inside a circle)
-- For the new row, enter these details:
     Message Group: inventory
     Message Key: cannotReturnIssueToWonum
     Display Method: MSGBOX
     Message ID Prefix: BMXAA
     Message ID Suffix: E
     Display ID?: Checked
     Value: The material cannot be returned because it was not issued to work order {0}.
     Buttons OK?: Checked
When finished, click OK.

Manually Installing the Patch
  • Log in to Maximo Application Suite Administration as an administrative user.
  • On the left, click Applications.
  • From the Action menu, select Update configuration.
  • In the dialog box, click the pencil icon on the Components line.
  • Under Activation configuration, click your workspace details page link.
  • From the Action menu, select Update configuration.
  • Under Configurations, click the pencil icon on the Components line.
  • In the Maximo Base line, under new version click the down arrow.
  • Select Version. Enter 8.7.8
  • Click Save.
