Abstract

IBM License Metric Tool application update 9.2.29 is now available.

Content

Application update 9.2.29 introduces the following new features:
 
  • IBM updated the subcapacity policy for metering VPC license usage
  • Reporting software that is installed on a single computer under multiple tenants
  • Tracking metric utilization for supporting programs that have usage restrictions
  • Extension of the interactive tutorial
  • Discovering software that is installed under symbolic links and junctions on Windows
  • Disconnected scanner installers can be downloaded from the License Metric Tool user interface
  • Improved user experience of a fresh installation
  • Support for new platforms and virtualization technologies:
    • AIX 7.3 by using the BigFix® client. The support is announced in application update 9.2.29, but AIX 7.3 can be used with application update 9.2.28 already.
    • KDDI Cloud
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 by using the BigFix client
    • Ubuntu 22.04 on IBM z Systems by disconnected scanner
  • Security enhancements
  • APAR and defect fixes
  • Update of the software catalog with End of Support data
