We are pleased to announce the release of IBM Kenexa LCMS v8.1 on August, 2014.
Highlights of this release include:
Authoring Improvements
- Custom Course Index Icon Manager
A new facility has been added to help LCMS content developers better manage icons within Custom Course Indexes. The new icon management facility provides a convenient and easy way for LCMS users to update, reuse and delete existing icon image files in Custom Course Indexes. - Bullet Cluster Enhancement
LCMS content developers can now set the vertical spacing (in pixels) between bulleted items in the Bullet Cluster object, which, in turn, allows them to better control the look-and-feel of their content. - Multiple Choice Enhancement
LCMS content developers can now reorder Multiple Choice Object responses in the Properties pane by dragging and dropping the responses in the desired position, rather than having to go into the corresponding Object Editor interface to manually reorder them. - Object Multi-select in Page Authoring
LCMS content developers can now group multiple objects in the Design view of Page Builder in order to perform a single action to all objects at once. The following actions are supported for this multi-select functionality: move, cut, copy, paste, paste as link, remove, delete, bring to front, send to back.
Other Changes
- HTML 5 Streaming Media tag support
The Streaming Media object now supports HTML 5. As a result, Learners are no longer required to install specific plug-ins in order to play Streaming Media objects (provided the media format is supported by HTML 5). - Enhancement to Taxonomy Management Facility
A new search utility has been added to the Taxonomy Manager. This facility allows System Administrators to locate taxonomy and content items more quickly and efficiently, which is particularly helpful when managing very large taxonomies. Located in the right-click menu for any taxonomy node, users can use this search feature to find the following: taxonomy and content, taxonomy only, content only.
Platform Support
We have added support for the following platforms:
- Internet Explorer (IE) 11 support was added for Developers and Administrators in v8.1.
(Note that IE11 support for Learners was added in release v8.0).
Support for IE 11 Enterprise Mode (for all users) is also included in this release.
