Resave release date:
The date when the Resave was made available.

Description:
The description of the Resave.

5770-999 and 5770-SS1 Resave Level:
The Resave level identifies the vintage of the Resave. IBM identifies the Resave level on the 5770-999 and 5770-SS1 (base) media. IBM uses levels A-B-C for the 999 versions and levels 00-10-20 for the SS1 versions. We also include the VRM in the level to help avoid confusion between releases.

Marker PTF:
The marker PTF is a PTF that can only appear on a system if it was installed with an IBM supplied Resave. These markers are cumulative, meaning systems can have more than one of the Marker PTF's available. The highest Marker PTF number found can be used to determine what Resave level of the product is installed.

How to determine the Resave level installed on a system:
To determine the Resave level of 5770-999, do a display PTF's function for product 5770-999. Marker PTF's for this product are in the format of REnnnnn. The highest number Marker PTF on your system, matched with the charts above, indicates the Resave level for this product.

To determine the Resave level of 5770-SS1, do a display PTF's function for product 5770-SS1. Marker PTF's for this product are in the format of APnnnnn. The highest number Marker PTF on your system, matched with the charts above, indicates the Resave level for this product.

How to determine the Resave level on a physical distribution DVD from IBM:
Look on the label printed on the DVD. For 5770-SS1, the DVD label would contain RS730-xx. For example, if a filename of RS730-00 exists then the media is for 7.3.0 Resave level '00'. For 5770-999 the DVD label would contain RS730-A. The Resave level is ‘A’.  If the information is not printed on the label, use the following instructions.

How to determine the Resave level on a DVD that does not have a printed label:
For example, physical copies made from electronically downloaded images or images stored on your system as VMI images.

For 5770-999 (I_BASE_01), do a display of the file content on this DVD or DVD image. Look for a filename in the root directory of the DVD that would indicate the Resave level in the filename itself. For example, if a filename of RS_730_A exists, then the media is for 7.3.0 Resave level 'A'.

For 5770-SS1 (B_GROUPx_01), do a display of the file content on this DVD or DVD image. Look for a filename in the root directory of the DVD that would indicate the Resave level in the filename itself. For example, if a filename of RS730_00 exists, then the media is for 7.3.0 Resave level '00'.
