IBM I Processor Usage seen by License Management

Question & Answer

Question

How can the processor usage be determined on IBM i partitions as seen by License Management?

Answer

Perform the following operations to determine the number of processors currently being used on your IBM i partitions:

1.

From a 5250 command line, issue the following command:

CALL QSYS/QLZARCAPI
2. Select the 'SYSTEM INFO ...' message at the bottom of the screen and press F1.
3. Press F10 to display the full message.
4.
Look for the entry ENTITLED PROCESSING CAPACITY as this is the number of processors used.
*Note: This can also be seen with WRKLICINF, press enter, option 5 on 5770SS1 feature 5051. The Licensed key limit will also be listed from this command as well.
