What PTFs contain the latest multi-pathing code for IBM i?
Answer
Multi-pathing isn't contained to a set of individual PTFs, but affected by multiple areas of code.
To have the most current code for IBM i Disk Multi-pathing, the latest level of the following Group PTFs are recommended:
- Technology Refresh
- Hardware and Related PTFs (even for PowerVS Cloud VMs since this contains related Licensed Internal Code updates)
- Group Hiper
- Cumulative
*Note: Group PTF number and latest level for each release is available at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/ibm-i-group-ptfs-level
If using IBM i Tape Multi-path, then in addition to the Group PTFs above, you should also have the latest level for the Backup Recovery Solutions group, plus the PTFs and other requirements listed in the Tape Muiltipath document:
