Troubleshooting

Problem

The V7R1 version of the IBM i Access for Windows product added support for the IBM i Access automation objects in a 64-bit environment with service pack SI42424.

Resolving The Problem

IBM i Access Client Solutions Windows Application Package is the current and final IBM i client for Windows product. Before the 7.1 client, there was no support for the IBM i Access automation objects in a 64-bit environment. Service pack SI42424 added 64-bit support for

  • Data Transfer Excel Add-In
  • ActiveX Automation objects (cwbx.dll)
  • OLE Automation objects (cwbautsv.dll)
  • OLE Custom Control objects (cwbctrl.ocx)

ODBC added 64-bit support starting in V5R2, OLEDB in V5R3, and the .Net provider in V6R1.
