Question & Answer
Question
I have an existing document that has a document lifecyle policy assigned to it. The document is at a lifecyle state that has permissions applied from the state's security template (see http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSNW2F_5.2.0/com.ibm.p8.c…). I have a need to change the security settings in the state's security template but the change is not reflected in the document's effective security, i.e., the inherited permissions are still from the previous settings. What can I do so that the document security reflects the current settings in the document lifecycle policy state's security template?
Answer
1. Promote the document lifecyle to next state. If there is no next state, create one then delete it after the goal has been accomplished.
2. Demote the document back to previous state. At this point, the current security settings at the state are applied to the document effective security.
