Installing the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing desktop client update
a. Close all running instances of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing desktop client.
b. Extract the patch .zip file to the computer where the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing desktop client is installed.
c. In IBM Installation Manager, click File > Preferences > Repositories > Add Repository and provide the path to the extracted folder.
d. To close the Preferences window, click OK.
e. Click File > Preferences > Files for Rollback and select the Save files for rollback checkbox.
f. In IBM Installation Manager, click Update.
g. Select the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing package group and click Next.
h. Select the version of the product you want to update to and click Next.
i. If you agree to the terms, then accept the license agreement, and click Install.
j. Click Update.
k. To complete the update, click Finish.
l. After the installation is complete, start the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing desktop client.
Verifying that the patch was successfully installed in the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing desktop client
a. Click Help > About IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing.
b. The build label must contain SR1. - IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Builder instructions
a. Stop the instance of IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Builder.
b. Extract the patch .zip file to the computer where the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Builder is installed.
c. In IBM Installation Manager, click File > Preferences > Repositories > Add Repository and provide the path to the extracted folder.
d. To close the Preferences window, click OK.
e. Click File > Preferences > Files for Rollback and select the Save files for rollback checkbox.
f. In the IBM Installation Manager, click Install.
g. Select the IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Publishing Document Builder package group and click Next.
h. Select the version of the product that you want to install and click Next.
i. If you agree to the terms, then accept the license agreement, and click Next.
j. On the WebSphere Application Server admin console in the Common Configurations window, select Install Application WAR files checkbox and click Install.
k. To complete the installation, click Finish.You must redeploy the rpeng.war and dgaas.war or the com.ibm.rpe.web.app.ear files located in the <Document_Builder_InstallDir> to your application server.
The following instructions are for the rpeng.war application. Use the same steps for the dgaas.war application.Installing the patch with Document Builder deployed on WebSphere Application Server with the WebSphere Application Server admin console
a. In the WebSphere Application Server Admin console, stop the Document Builder: Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications, select the rpeng_war checkbox, and click Stop.
b. Update the rpeng_war file: Select the rpeng_war checkbox and click Update.
c. Select Replace the entire application, browse to the new rpeng.war file in the location that you extracted it to, and click Next.
d. Follow the fast path installation, and accept all of the default values.
e. After the update is complete, save the configuration changes when you are prompted to.
f. Start the Document Builder: Select the rpeng_war checkbox and click Start.Uninstalling the patch with Document Builder deployed on WebSphere Application Server
a. Locate the rpeng.war file in the original Document Builder installation.
b. In the WebSphere Application Server Admin console, stop the Document Builder: Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications, select the rpeng_war check box, and click Stop.
c. Update the rpeng_war file: Select the rpeng_war checkbox and click Update.
d. Select Replace the entire application, browse to the rpeng.war file in the original installation location, and click Next.
e. Follow the fast path installation, and accept all of the default values.
f. After the update is complete, save the configuration changes when you are prompted to.
g. Start the Document Builder: Select the rpeng_war checkbox and click Start.Installing the patch with Document Builder deployed on WebSphere Liberty Server
a. Stop the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile server that is packaged with Document Builder. To stop the server, enter the following path in the command line:
Windows: <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\server.shutdown.bat
For example, C:\Program Files\IBM\DocumentBuilder\server\server.shutdown.bat
Linux: <Document_Builder_InstallDir>/server/server.shutdown
For example, /opt/IBM/DocumentBuilder/server/server.shutdown
b. Take the backup of Document Builder files of the existing version of Document Builder.
- Copy the following files from <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm:
jvm.options
server.env
server.xmlRPENG_DB and DGAAS_DB (If derbydb is used as the database server.)
- Copy the following files from <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\conf:
Application.xml
basicUserRegistry.xml
- Copy the following files from <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server:
server.startup.bat
liberty.start.bat (If IBM Db2, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server is used as the database server.)
c. Delete the rpeng.war and dgaas.war from <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\apps.
d. Copy the rpeng.war and dgaas.war from the patch to <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\apps.
e. Start the WebSphere Application Server Liberty Profile server that is packaged with Document Builder. To start the server, enter the following path in the command line:
Windows: <Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\server.startup.bat
For example, C:\Program Files\IBM\DocumentBuilder\server\server.startup.bat
Linux: <Document_Builder_InstallDir>/server/server.startup
For example, opt/IBM/DocumentBuilder/server/server.startupUninstalling the patch with Document Builder deployed on WebSphere Liberty Server
a. Stop the WebSphere Liberty Server for the Document Builder.
b. Restore the original rpeng.war.zip file that was backed up during the installation to the following directories:
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\apps
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\clmServerTemplate\apps
c. Delete the following directories:
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\apps\rpeng.war
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\clmServerTemplate\apps\rpeng.war
d. Extract the original rpeng.war.zip file into the following directories:
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\servers\clm\apps\rpeng.war
<Document_Builder_InstallDir>\server\liberty\clmServerTemplate\apps\rpeng.war
e. Start the server.Verifying that the patch was successfully installed for Document Builder
a. After the server starts, open the Document Builder home page.
b. Click Help > About Document Builder.
c. Check that the build label in the dialog box contains SR1.
