IBM Support

IBM Encryption Pattern for Guardium Data Encryption installation and configuration

Product Documentation

Abstract

IBM® InfoSphere Guardium® Encryption is for IBM PureApplication™ System virtual pattern
deployers who want to encrypt on-disk data. The Guardium Data Encryption Database Agent (file system
agent) is deployed on virtual application patterns and virtual system patterns to support data-at-rest
encryption on IBM PureApplication System.

Virtual application pattern and virtual system pattern data encryption management is policy-driven. The
Guardium (Data Security Manager) server, which is external to PureApplication System, communicates
with the file system agent to provide the encryption and decryption policies. Data within the targeted file
paths are encrypted on your deployed virtual machines when the virtual application patterns and virtual
system patterns are deployed.
