Question
When the Windows DLLHOST process fails, this can cause issues in IBM Document Manager (DM). What is the best way to troubleshoot IBM Document Manager DLLHOST related issues?
Answer
If the DLLHOST is failing, there will generally be an error in the Windows Event Viewer. To DEBUG the DLLHOST, the Microsoft (MS) Debug Diagnostics (Diag) Tool can be downloaded. This application will allow a rule to be set up to monitor the DLLHOST process for failures or general issues with the DLLHOST.
The section "A specific process" in the guide below explains how to set up a rule specifically for a Windows process. In this case, the rule will be set up for the DLLHOST process. The rule will need to be running when the failure usually occurs.
