IBM Content Search Services fails to create a Windows service for CSS server.

Troubleshooting


Problem

Installation of FileNet Content Engine Content Search Services on Windows does not create the service, even though the installation log indicates it is successful.

Symptom

Windows services do not show the CSS service after logging off the Windows server.

The CSS installation logs shows the service creation as being successful.

Execute Command: $SERVER_INSTALL_DIR$$\$bin$\$CssServiceInstaller.exe -install -name "$USER_INPUT_RESULT_SERVICE_NAME$" -username $USER_INPUT_USERNAME$ -password $USER_INPUT_PASSWORD$ -display "$USER_INPUT_RESULT_SERVICE_NAME$" -description "The Windows service that starts the IBM Content Search Services Server" -exe "$SERVER_INSTALL_DIR$$\$bin$\$EcmtsService.exe" $TEXT_START_AUTO$ $TEXT_START_NOW$
Status: SUCCESSFUL

When you log back into Windows ..there is no service under Windows Services
