Problem
In IBM Content Navigator (ICN) there may be a NullPointerException (NPE) which causes memory leaks. This can then cause IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) to hang.
Symptom
The following error is reported in the WAS SystemOut log:
com.ibm.ecm.struts.actions.cm.CMGetAnnotationsAction.executeAction()
java.lang.NullPointerException at java.io.OutputStream.write(OutputStream.java:69)
Resolving The Problem
Increasing the heap space in WAS can relieve this issue temporarily. However, upgrading to ICN 2.0.3 Fix Pack 8 or higher is a more permanent fix for this issue.
