Question & Answer
Question
Why does Content Navigator (ICN) HTML Conversion print only one page of a multipage TIFF document?
Cause
When viewing an image and deciding to print it from the ICN viewer, there is an option to print using the context menu of the browser. However, when using this method only the selected page of the TIFF image is printed.
Answer
The reason for this is that TIFF files are converted into single page png images. Browsers cannot display TIFF images directly and therefore this conversion happens. To simulate multiple pages, several images are created.
For example:
If a TIFF image has 11 pages, during the HTML conversion process 11 PNG images are created which are then included in the HTML code to be displayed by the browser.
If the user now selects the context of one image (more than one image cannot be selected), the browser is only passing a single image for printing. Thus only one page is printed instead of all pages.
