Abstract

IBM® accelerators are integrated offerings that easily snap-on to IBM WebSphere® Portal Server helping to speed time-to-value, by providing capabilities specific to, and aligned with, customer business challenges and needs. IBM Content Accelerator provides a powerful on-line content creation and management environment for delivering robust, high-value WebSphere Portal-based experiences that improve communication and productivity. IBM Collaboration Accelerator enables team collaboration, instant messaging, Web conferencing and social networking to improve organizational knowledge sharing.

The product offering you purchased may include limited entitlements to all or portions of the following Other IBM Programs:

IBM WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment, IBM DB2 Universal Database Enterprise Server Edition, IBM Tivoli Directory Server, IBM Lotus Web Content Management, IBM WebSphere Portlet Factory Designer, and IBM Lotus Domino Enterprise Server, IBM Lotus Sametime, and IBM Lotus Quickr.

Step 1: Access your software and documentation

Product software can be accessed from CD or from e-image, both available from Passport Advantage. If you download your product from Passport Advantage, follow the directions in the download document: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=688&uid=swg24024452. This product is available in several offerings. Review the International Program License Agreement for a complete list of the offerings and their respective entitlements. It includes entitlement to IBM Lotus Web Content Management and limited entitlement to IBM Lotus Sametime Standard, IBM Lotus Connections, IBM Lotus Quickr, and IBM OmniFind Enterprise Edition (refer to the IBM Collaboration Accelerator and IBM Content Accelerator licenses for complete entitlement details).

Step 2: Evaluate your hardware and system configuration

Step 3: Review the base architecture

The following diagram demonstrates the base architecture of IBM Accelerators.

Step 4: Install Accelerators

Follow the installation instructions for the different products shown below. For best performance, IBM recommends that Lotus Connections and Lotus Quickr be deployed on separate servers. While it may be possible to combine some installations on a single server, this is not considered a best practice production deployment.
