Problem
Updating the Server Connectivity Module for IBM BladeCenter (option 39Y9324) firmware from version 1.1.1 to version 1.1.3 fails using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). Updating from firmware version 1.1.2 to version 1.1.3 using HTTP works properly. This is a permanent limitation.

Symptom
Updating the Server Connectivity Module for IBM BladeCenter (option 39Y9324) firmware from version 1.1.1 to version 1.1.3 fails using Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP). Updating from firmware version 1.1.2 to version 1.1.3 using HTTP works properly.
This is a permanent limitation.
Affected Configurations
The system is configured with one or more of the following IBM options:
- Server Connectivity Module for IBM BladeCenter, option 39Y9324, replacement part number 39Y9327
This tip is not system specific.

Workaround
The firmware can be updated using File Transfer Protocol (FTP) or Trivial File Transport Protocol (TFTP) in a web or telnet session.
- Log in to the Management Module (MM), as described in the IBM BladeCenter Management Module User's Guide on the IBM BladeCenter Documentation CD.
- Select Configuration from the I/O Module Tasks on the left menu of the MM window.
- Choose a bay number to select a Storage Configuration Manager (SCM), then click Advanced Configuration.
- Click Start Web Session.
- Login to the SCM with a user Id of USERID, and a password of PASSW0RD (there is a number 0 after the letter W).
- Navigate to Miscellaneous settings --> Start Options.
- Change the transfer method to TFTP or FTP, and specify the file server address and file name.
- Click Get Image.
Additional Information
Updating from firmware version 1.1.2 to version 1.1.3 using HTTP works properly. See this image:
