IBM Aspera is the new desktop application for interfacing with web apps and performing transfers from a client machine to IBM Aspera servers. IBM Aspera desktop is currently in early access releases for testing.
Installing
To install IBM Aspera desktop application visit an IBM Aspera web application that supports the new desktop application. If your organization or account supports the new application you will be presented with an option to open it or download it. If you were previously given a choice but chose to skip you can switch to the new experience in the Transfer Activity monitor for your web application.
Updating
You can easily update the application in the interface via the About page. You will also see this icon flashing when an update is available. Simply click the button on the about page to install the latest version of IBM Aspera within the application.
Accessing logs
Logs can be accessed by going to Help > Troubleshooting > Open Logs Folder. You can also quickly access all application and core logs via the About page and using the "Download support data" to quickly get a ZIP of all items to share with support.
Reset the app
If things are not working as expected you can easily reset the app by going to Help > Troubleshooting > Reset App Data. This will reset all settings and get the app back to a clean installation.
Uninstalling
You can uninstall the app by dragging the app into the trash can after closing it for macOS or using the Uninstall software control panel for Windows or Linux. If you want to save your settings you can do so by exporting them from the File menu before uninstalling.
