Hypervisor access on TechZone

TechZone is currently unable to support Hypervisor access requests. This article provides approved alternatives for users who require Hypervisor‑level functionality.

TechZone is currently unable to support Hypervisor access requests. Users who require access may consider the following alternatives:

  • Install the environment locally using VirtualBox, or
  • Import the ISO into a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) image within IBM Cloud
Option 1: Install the Environment Locally Using VirtualBox
 
  • Download and install Oracle VirtualBox.
  • Obtain the relevant ISO or image file.
  • Create a new virtual machine and attach the ISO.
  • Allocate CPU, memory, and storage resources as needed.
  • Start the virtual machine and complete the installation.


Option 2: Import the ISO into a Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) image within IBM Cloud
 
  • Log in to the IBM Cloud Console.
  • Navigate to VPC Infrastructure → Custom Images.
  • Upload the ISO as a custom image.
  • Deploy a Virtual Server Instance (VSI) from the imported image.
  • Configure networking, access groups, and security settings.
  • Access and manage the environment as needed.
