IBM Support

HTTP Client Get timeout even when the transfer is in progress

Troubleshooting

Problem

When performing an HTTP client Get or Put, the connection times out when the amount of time specified in the ResponseTimeout parameter is reached even though the file is actively being transferred.

For example, if a large file takes about 20 minutes to download and the ResponseTimeout is set to 10 minutes, the HTTP Client Get will timeout after 10 minutes.

Symptom

HTTP client fails with a timeout:

HTTP Status Code: -1
HTTP Reason Phrase: Internal Error: Response not received before specified timeout reached. Closing connection.
