How to Troubleshoot Process Portal Task List Auto-Refresh Behavior

How To

Summary

The IBM Business Automation Workflow Process Portal application offers a task list auto-refresh feature. Starting with IBM Business Automation Workflow 19.0.0.2 release, changes were introduced that created problems for the task list refresh behavior.

Troubleshooting the task list auto-refresh behavior consists of three main steps. (1) Ensure the task list refresh behavior is enabled. (2) Capture the Process Portal login and task assignment with the browser developer tools network capture capabilities. (3) Review the data to confirm the task is assigned to the individual user that was logged in or assigned to a group listed in the user's group membership list.

The client checks the user's group membership at login time. If the task is assigned to a group that is not found in the user's group membership list, then the task list refresh is not initiated.
